Nagabhusan joined the five year degree program in Mechanical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology in
Khaaragpur, West Bengal. The institutions of Indian Institute of Technology (called IIT's) were a new model by
the post-indendence government of Jawaharlal Nehru to create future engineers of India. They have succeeded
in their mission of offering quality education to the talented students selected through open competitive examination.

Rajendra Prasad Residence Hall
Nagabhusan took residence in Rajendra Prasad Residence Hall at the campus of IIT, Kharagpur. He was a popular student and participated in many oDiA events held in campus. His teachers like Dr Duryodhana Mangaraj of Columbus, Ohio, have fond memory of him.
His younger brother Gangadhar joined IIT, Kharagpur two years later and also stayed in the same Residence Hall. Another young student Mr Kantilal Jain was in Gangadhar's batch and turned out to be a good friend to Nagabhusan. The trio made trips around and also did excursions to Orissa together.
Nagabhusan spent enormous hours in the Central Library of the campus in reviewing journals. The organizer of this website happened to meet him in the Library Reading Room while he went on library work there in 1968.
Kantilal Jain is a professor of Electrical Engineering at University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Gangadhar is an engineer and lives in Miami, Fl.
