Nagabhusan joined as a Master's student in Mechanical Engineering in MIT.  The Department of Mechanical Engineering has been world-renowned for its ledearship in innovative research, technology applications in every day life and frontiers in interdisclinary approach for solving problems. Nagabhusan entered the field of Biomedical Ultrasonics in order to investiagte the application of ultrasonic technology in probing difficult tissues for surgery.  He took a D.Sc degree in 1974.    His thesis adviser was late Dr Padmakar Lele.   His thesis title was "Ultrasonic Cavitation Dynamics in-vivo in CNS of mammals."
